FIRST VISIT

At Red River Endodontics, your first appointment will consist of a consultation to determine your endodontic needs and treatment options. When you arrive at the office, we request that you provide us the following information if available:

  1. Completed referral slip from your general dentist

  2. X-ray images taken at your dentist’s office

  3. List of current medications

  4. Dental insurance information

During your evaluation, we will take updated images, including a new digital x-ray as well as a 3-D scan of your tooth called a CBCT. The CBCT scan captures details of the complex anatomy of your tooth and surrounding areas, many of which aren’t visible on a traditional 2-D image. This level of detail allows us to accurately diagnose and treat your tooth to the best of our ability.

We will also go over your history of symptoms, if any, and complete a brief round of testing to confirm your tooth’s diagnosis. Once the diagnosis is established, you and Dr. Rudnicki will discuss the findings, as well as all of the possible treatment options. Our goal is for you to have all the information you need to comfortably make a decision regarding your dental care.

If you decide to pursue endodontic treatment, our team will meet you at the front desk to discuss scheduling. Occasionally, treatment may be initiated the same day as evaluation. However, treatment is typically completed on a different day, so we will work diligently to get your needs met as quickly as possible.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

If you are under the age of 18, you must have a parent or guardian present at the time of evaluation.

If you have a medical or surgical history that requires medication prior to dental treatment, please inform our office so we can adequately prepare by consulting with your physician or prescribing you the necessary medication.

If you have a history of dental anxiety, severe gagging, or have other medical conditions that make it difficult to tolerate dental procedures, please let us know so we can review sedation options with you.

If you are 18 or above and have family, friends, or caretakers with you during your appointment, we kindly ask that they remain in the waiting room unless specifically requested. No more than one additional person is allowed in the room at any given time.
